


IMO to uprate your own engine is folly, cost of rods, and doing the work, plu rod bearings, plus cost of pistons (as not worth not doing them if the engine is stripped), plu headbolts, headgasket, cambelt kit, means you are in it for a good couple of k if you are paying someone to do. I would go hybrid as said, or ihi vf34 over the gt28 anyway, as they are still to laggy on a 1.8 from what i read.I wouldn't go CR either, there are others out there who will hybrid however. Yes, its torque that kills these engines and not the bhp anyway. I know I am not gonna win class, as havent got 500-600 bhp, but it's an estate that would like to raise a few eyebrows with. I do track days and dragging at Santa Pod. I like punch out of the blocks, but also staying power towards top of range. Another started on about his own turbo making company, which again doesn't help in my quest either, oh and how figures were all wildy out for turbo's. What would peoples preferences be between a hybrid, rs6 internals, K03s with K04 internals or a k04-001? if you could give sound reasoning behind answer would be great, "As it's Pants" as someone put on another forum doesn't really back up their argument or help when reading it. :( As most threads are at least 2 -3 years old, and things have come along way since then. I suspect this has been done to death, but gonna ask as my head hurts from soo much reading in forums across the net and I am more confused than when I started.
